Klaradyn is a large residential estate with 200+ units, shared utilities, and a complex billing structure. The management board faced a dual challenge: rising electricity costs (intensified by loadshedding and demand charges) and the difficulty of billing residents accurately for their individual consumption. The facility operates 24/7 with critical infrastructure including medical facilities, emergency lighting, and water pumping systems that cannot tolerate outages.
We designed a multi-phase program starting with tariff analysis and account management, then moving into sub-metering for accurate billing, and finally implementing renewable energy and storage for grid independence and reliability. This was achieved with a 210 kWp solar PV array and battery backup.
The combination of reliable power, capped owner’s tariff increases, transparent billing with positive annual revenue recovery, and zero load-shedding impact on essential services has fundamentally transformed how we manage residents’ satisfaction and our own operations.
